In American college sports, the use of statistical information & analysis is a critical element for most college coaches when considering whether an international athlete should be considered as a potential signing. Media outlets such as ESPN, Fox Sports and CBS are used as a key resource on domestic athletes in the US high school system that are regarded as ‘elite’ and to be considered by college sports programs.
This tangible and subjective gathering of data has been the single most important factor for most college coaches when making a decision on an athlete, and the ranking of the athlete is used by the college coach to determine whether they are a suitable investment of scholarship monies or not. Until now, there has been no such facility available to college coaches' when it comes down to considering the validity of signing an international athlete – with most athletes being signed ‘blindly’ or by recommendation from a contact overseas.

All sports, including Soccer & Golf, will have their own respective rankings for international athletes aiming to secure an athletic scholarship to a US university. The rankings will be determined by an experienced panel of former collegiate athletes & coaches, each of whom will use a robust system of assessment to ensure a fair portrayal of where athletes should be ranked from an international perspective. It is hoped that this will provide college coaches with more confidence during the international recruitment process and allow them to see ‘at a glance’ who’s hot, and who’s not.
College coaches attend high school games and showcase events, watch players on film and write reports on what they observe. That is how college programs determine which players to watch, meet with and whom to offer scholarships.
