FirstPoint USA.com founder and Managing Direcor, Andrew Kean, was recently named as one of four leading British businessmen to be appointed as Non-Executive Directors of the English Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) and its management board.
Andrew becomes the first Scotsman to be named as a Director of the EWGA and at thirty years of age he is the youngest to hold a position on the board.
Along with Chrissie Owens, a sponsorship and marketing consultant; Sylvia Perrins, the National Director of the National Skills Academy; and Bill Richards, a Managing Partner of London-based business law firm LG – Andrew will be working on the potential merger between the EWGA and the English Golf Union as well as providing support to the Chief Executive and the Chairman of the association on commercial matters.
The English Women’s Golf Association was founded in 1952 and has a membership in England of over 121,000 female golfers. The Headquarters are based in Edgbaston, Birmingham with the overall management of the Association vested in a Management Board comprising a Chairman, 4 Non-Executive Directors, Company Accountant and the Chief Executive Officer. The directors serve for a maximum of 3 years and are appointed for their business skills and have specific responsibilities for marketing and the commercial activity of the organization.

Andrew Kean returned from a soccer scholarship in the USA to found and become Managing Director of FirstPoint USA.com, which places athletes on sports scholarships with American universities from their UK, German and Australian offices.
He has been a finalist in the ‘Scotsman of the Year’ Award; the Royal Bank of Scotland/Prince’s Youth Business Trust Entrepreneur of the Year; and a finalist in the Shell LIVEwire Entrepreneur of the Year.
