FirstPoint USA has been helping potential sports stars of the future gain places at American Universities for many years now. Since 2001, we have secured scholarships for over 7,500 athletes; securing over $200 million in scholarship awards on their behalf in the process.
The first step in your journey to secure an American golf scholarship is to attend one of our 'Golf Assessment & Presentation' days.
We are currently holding assessment days for potential applicants to come along and show us their skills. If you are interested in attending a Golf Assessment Day, you first need to apply below. Once we’ve received your application, we will send you written confirmation and further information about the scholarship process in general. You will also need to provide us with a Valid Handicap Certificate from your club. Maximum handicap for boys is 7, and girls 10. Please note that these events hold a maximum of 9 candidates per event, and they will be accepted on a first come-first served basis. Only valid handicap certificates will guarantee your spot.
The dates and venues of these assessment days are outlined below:
REGISTRATION FEE: £30.00 (€30 in Ireland)
The Registration Fee covers your insurance to participate in the trial event
All participants need to be dressed in proper golf attire and bring all items that would be needed in case of wet weather. No golf shoes, waterproofs or umbrellas will be provided. We highly encourage participants to bring water and other snacks to keep them hydrated and energised throughout their round. Changing and showering facilities will be provided.
One unique aspect of the FirstPoint Golf Assessments is the presentation for students and parents to learn about American college sport, the level of competition, how golf scholarships work, academic and golfing requirements and what the student-athlete experience looks like.
To allow participants and coaches to make the most of the Golf Assessment, parents and visitors will be able to attend the presentation, watch the assessment taking place and meet with members of the FirstPoint staff to ask questions and learn more about what the opportunity involves.
