Events Manager

FirstPoint USA are a sports agency that creates scholarship opportunities to universities in the United States for talented sportsmen and women. As the global leader in sports scouting and recruitment, FirstPoint works with over 2,500 US universities to increase their international reach and identify suitable sporting and academic talent on their behalf.

We are seeking an Events Manager to coordinate, manage and deliver our portfolio of events, both domestically and internationally, with the objective of improving our event experience for customers and stakeholders. This exciting new position is a key role within our team, working closely with other departments, to oversee the end-to-end delivery of FirstPoint USA’s B2C and B2B events. We want to hear from talented candidates with a desire to stage great events and a passion for sport.


  • Responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of our events portfolio, including Talent ID camps, sports trials and showcase days, from concept to planning to on-site management
  • Co-ordination of FirstPoint USA’s presence at industry conferences and exhibitions
  • Maximise the commercial viability and quality of each event through effective procurement
  • Oversee venue selection and booking, scheduling and contract negotiating, while developing strong relationships with venue personnel and suppliers
  • Responsibility for ensuring the highest standard of customer experience, through effective planning, logistics and execution
  • Manage on-site requirements, travel logistics, catering and health & safety requirements
  • Provide the required guidance and event details for colleagues, freelance staff (e.g., coaches) and partner organisations
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure a consistent, high quality brand presence, including signage and merchandise
  • Manage suppliers and control costs to deliver events within budget
  • Co-ordination of staff roles and responsibilities for each event
  • Lead the debrief and review of events to continually improve future delivery
  • Work with Senior Management Team to identify and scope new event opportunities which have a positive impact on growing the business


  • 3+ years’ experience of coordinating or managing events in a similar role
  • Ability to manage multiple logistics and schedules
  • Venue procurement experience
  • Ability to build strong business relationships with suppliers and partner organisations
  • Highly organised and excellent planning skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • A passion for delivering customer service excellence
  • Good communication skills and an ability to maintain strong inter-departmental relationships
  • Confident, positive and proactive
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, always-on environment
  • Experience in sports is desirable though not essential … you do however need have a genuine interest in sport

£30,000 - £35,000 depending on level of experience


Glasgow, Scotland (with the opportunity to work at events throughout the UK and internationally)
