Videographer / Content Creator
FirstPoint USA is the global leader in sports scouting and recruitment within the higher education sector, working with over 2,500 US universities to connect talented sportsmen and women with prestigious US scholarship opportunities.
As we further expand our marketing activity, we are looking for a creative, self-sufficient Videographer / Content Creator to own the filming and editing of high-impact video content across our brand. This role sits at the heart of our storytelling, capturing the journeys of student-athletes, alumni, parents and staff, and translating real-world moments into scroll-stopping short-form content and high-quality and engaging long-form video.
The role also gives you the opportunity to also take ownership of our TikTok channel, aligning to trends and creating fresh content which engages and excites our core target audience.
You’ll be on the ground at trial events, partner activities, athlete interviews and key moments, then shaping that footage into content optimised for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, paid social and presentations. And you’ll have access to some amazing footage generated by our US-based media team to weave into our storytelling.
This is a hands-on, fast-moving role suited to someone who is confident working independently but integral to a team, thrives on variety, and understands how to drive brand engagement on social media channels.
Responsibilities
Video Production & Filming
- Film interviews with FirstPoint USA staff, alumni athletes, parents and partners
- Capture content at trial days, partner activities and other events
- Confidently operate as a single-person crew, managing camera, audio and lighting
- Set up and direct interviews to ensure consistent, high-quality output
- Capture both planned and reactive content in live environments
Editing & Content Creation
- Edit short-form video content optimised for: Instagram Reels, TikTok & Paid Social Ads
- Edit longer-form content for YouTube, including athlete stories and college features
- Source relevant content from external sources (college facilities, campuses, events)
- Adapt footage into multiple formats, cuts and hooks for different platforms
- Add subtitles, motion graphics and basic animations where appropriate
- Maintain brand consistency while tailoring content to platform-specific best practices
Collaboration & Delivery
- Own, build and grow the FirstPoint USA TikTok channel
- Work closely with the marketing team to align content with campaign goals
- Take briefs and creative direction but also proactively pitch content ideas
- Deliver content to tight deadlines around events and campaigns
The candidate
- Experience in a Videographer / Content Creator role
- Knows how to turn real people and real moments into compelling content
- Strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating both short and long-form content creation
- Confident filming interviews, live-action and B-roll content
- Strong understanding of short-form video storytelling and hooks
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, real-world environments
- Willingness and flexibility to travel across the UK and internationally as required
- A passion for sport is desirable
- Basic photography skills for social and web use
- Confident in front of camera
Additional Requirements
- Flexible approach to working hours (including occasional evenings/weekends)
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Comfortable representing the FirstPoint USA brand when working with athletes, parents and partners
