All you need to know about NIL
The landscape of college sport has been transformed since legislation came into force four years ago allowing student-athletes to earn income from their name, images and likeness (NIL) rights. Our guest speaker is Kristi Dosh, a former practicing attorney who is now a sports business contributor for Forbes and the founder of Business of College Sports®. She has written on the business of college sports for more than a decade for outlets such as ESPN, The Washington Post, and Sports Business Journal. She is the author of two books on the business of college sports: Saturday Millionaires: How Winning Football Builds Winning Colleges and The Athlete's NIL Playbook. Currently, Kristi teaches courses at the University of Florida on NIL in the Sport Management and Public Relations departments. She has hosted two NIL podcasts: Game Face from Linktree and The Players' Platform with former Duke track and field athlete Emily Cole. Our interview with Kristi will delve into the details of NIL and the types of opportunities available for current and future student-athletes. We’ll discuss social media marketing, personal brand, merchandise, personal appearances and more, as well as agents, collectives and third-party platforms. The webinar will look at examples of successful NIL athletes, and how to successfully navigate this growing market, now worth an estimated $1.67 billion.
