Congratulations to Jake Spearpoint, one of our golfers, was capped for the England U16 team in their defeat of Scotland in the annual  match. He won 2 points out of 2 in the match. Jake, 15, a student at Brockhill Park, is a member of Littlestone, Sene Valley & Royal Cinque Ports Golf clubs. The Folkestone youngster has received Kent coaching from the age of seven, and has played in numerous county matches. Last year he was chosen for South of England training, and worked hard over the winter months. This summer has seen Jake travelling all over the country and playing in tournaments run by the England Golf Union where he hard work and consistent play have produced some excellent results. Now, as a member of the England U16 squad he train over at Cumberwell Park, Bath, throughout the winter and will travel to matches all over the UK and overseas over the 2010/11 season. His dad Marc told the Herald: "This is a dream come true for Jake. "He does his GCSEs this year, followed by A-levels over the next two years. "He then hopes to then go to America to play collegiate golf alongside studying for a degree in sport." Check out the full article here Well done Jake and we wish you continued success!
