Welcome to FirstPointUSA Alejandro!

We'd like to welcome Alejandro Rivero to the FirstPointUSA family! Alejandro is a soccer player from the Canary Islands who now lives in Ireland. We look forward to working with him and his family! Here's his thoughts about the future and why he decided to go to America as a student athlete.
  1. Where you are from?
I'm from the Canary Islands but lived in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria before moving to Ireland.
  1. Your sporting background?
I started plying soccer at A.D Claret from 2005 till 2007 and then later played at Victoria F.C. from 2007 till 2013. Unfortunately following this, I suffered an injury which hampered my trials with Newcastle United. That was heart breaking for me. However, after this, I joined Home Farm F.C. in Dublin from 2014 till present.
  1. Your previous education?
I spent my primary school years and first to second year at Claret Las Palmas. Next, I attended Salesian Pallaskenry School in Limerick and this is where I achieved my Junior Certificate. I then spent fourth year back at Claret Las Palmas before moving to Kilkenny College where I did fifth year. Finally, I achieved the advanced certificate exam from Cambridge.
  1. What makes you want to go and study in the States?
My first steps were always with a ball and at that time it was the most precious object in the whole world to me. I've always said to my parents when we watch the Real Madrid match that I will someday be there, I've been dreaming with that big opportunity that FirstPointUSA is offering but my main dream is to help my grand parents with the economic problems that they are having right now. I think that FirstPointUSA is the answer to all of my hard work that I have been putting in over the years!
  1. What are you looking forward to the most about training and studying in the States?
During my time in the States, I am looking to find myself as a person. If I want to be the best I can and reach the top I will have to stand out from the others and do things they are not. I am looking forward to learning about new cultures and discovering new places but my main aim is to find that passion that will wake me up every day. From the best, I will learn to be humble and I’m looking to reach the top where my signature will be called an autograph. I’d like to think if Jamie Vardy can do it with FirstPointUSA, I will too!
