Adam Warner is the newest rugby player to join our ranks here at FirstPoint USA. We recently caught up with Adam to find out some more about him, his sporting background, and why he wishes to pursue a rugby scholarship to the US.
Adam hails from Basingstoke, is a former pupil of Fort Hill Community School and St. Paul’s Catholic College, and has played rugby for over 10 years. Having played for teams such as Hampshire County and London Irish Academy, we asked Adam what his favourite sporting memory to date is...
“I have a lot of fond sporting memories over the years, but I think my favourite has to be scoring my first try for London Irish Academy. Just playing for the club I’ve supported all my life was a proud enough moment, but being able to score, in front of my family, just topped it off.”
Adam tells us that he wishes to study in the states because of the wide range of options it will provide him with, regarding both academics and athletics. As rugby is one of the fastest growing college sports in the US, Adam will be looking to join the program at a very exciting time. Upon securing a scholarship and beginning life as a student athlete, Adam tells us that he is most looking forward to experiencing a completely different lifestyle to that of at home. As well as seeing the style of play that is used with US rugby.
We often ask our clients to tell us who their top three sportspeople are, Adam had this to say...
“I don’t really have a top three, it’s too difficult to choose. But, my all-time favourite sportsman is Conor McGregor. His story inspires me; you won’t find anyone who is as determined or who works as hard as he does.”
Finally, we asked Adam where he sees himself being in 10 years time. He told us that he hopes to still be playing rugby, in fact, he can’t imagine himself doing anything else!
We’d like to wish Adam the best of luck for throughout his scholarship process. We will keep you updated on his progress through our various social media platforms; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
