We are thrilled to announce that this week, FirstPoint USA will be in the States to attend both the United Soccer Coaches Convention, and the USA Rugby National Development Summit.

The 2018 United Soccer Coaches Convention takes place from 17th-21st January, in Philadelphia, and the FirstPoint USA team are delighted to be attending.

FirstPoint USA’s Head of Soccer, George Thomson, along with Craig Hughes and Kris O’Neil, of our Clearing and Promotions team, will be in attendance at the event.

The annual convention, known as “The World’s Largest Annual Gathering of Soccer Coaches”, attracts more than 12,000 attendees from all NCAA, NJCAA and NAIA divisions. Across the 5-day event, there will be live field demonstration and lecture sessions, networking socials, coaching diploma training classes, and a large soccer-only trade show.

George Thomson has said, “I am very excited to be attending my third United Soccer Coaches Convention, this time in Philadelphia. Building new relationships with coaches, while also catching up with coaches I have previously met, is key and it is something I am really looking forward to. We are also currently arranging visits to collegiate campuses in the area, which will also be great!”

Throughout the event, our team will be meeting with US collegiate coaches to discuss their international recruiting requirements for the 2018, 2019, and 2020 seasons

Whilst in the States, we are delighted to also have the opportunity to attend the USA Rugby 2018 National Development Summit in Denver, Colorado, from 19-21st January.

Across the 3-day event, FirstPoint USA’s Head of Rugby, Brendan McGroarty, will be meeting with US collegiate rugby coaches to discuss their international recruiting requirements for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons.

With regards to attending the event, Brendan McGroarty has said, “It is a great chance to get over to meet many of the coaches I have had dialogue with for a long time. With rugby developing at a rapid rate in the States, keeping up to date with new college teams, coaches, conferences and divisions is a job in itself! Being around the people who are involved in it will help keep us on the front foot. The event already looks very well attended by college coaches and I have been in touch with dozens of coaches already to arrange meetings. Denver will also be a new city and new experience for me so I am very much looking forward to that.”
