The Howden Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens is delighted to announce a new three-year partnership with FirstPoint USA, the world’s leading US sports scholarship and university admissions agency. This collaboration marks an exciting step forward as we continue to champion opportunities for young rugby players on and off the pitch.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, FirstPoint USA has supported more than 40,000 student-athletes. Its dedicated rugby division has successfully placed players at top collegiate programmes including Brown University, Penn State University, Yale University, the University of Notre Dame, with its student-athletes also currently playing and studying at Harvard, Princeton, UPenn and UConn.

As rugby continues to grow rapidly across the United States, with more than 900 universities now offering men’s and women’s programmes, this partnership arrives at a pivotal moment for school-age athletes considering the US collegiate pathway. Many former UK school players have already flourished through FirstPoint’s platform, including Remy Thomson, Ellie-Jane Bowdler, and Joe Al-Hasso, each of whom has gone on to win national collegiate titles.

Throughout the tournament week, the FirstPoint USA team - made up of former student-athletes and sports professionals - will be on site to offer expert advice to players and families interested in exploring rugby scholarship opportunities in the States. Attendees will also be able to meet special guests at the FirstPoint stand, gaining first-hand insight into the student-athlete experience and the unique blend of academic and athletic development offered by US universities.

Izzy Lovell, Events Director at Rosslyn Park, said:

“As the world’s largest schools rugby tournament, we are committed to creating pathways that inspire young players and expand their horizons both within rugby and beyond it. Through our partnership with FirstPoint USA, we can help aspiring athletes explore opportunities in the US when the collegiate game in America is thriving. We are excited to work alongside a partner who shares our passion for developing the next generation and look forward to seeing the positive impact this collaboration will have on players across the UK and around the world.”

Andrew Kean, Founder and CEO of FirstPoint USA said:

“We are thrilled to embark on this three-year partnership with the Howden Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens, an event that stands as a pinnacle of the global school rugby calendar.

With the rapid growth of US collegiate rugby amplified by the anticipation of the 2031 and 2033 World Cups in the States, it’s a great time to be considering the option of playing and studying in the US, and FirstPoint is dedicated to helping the next generation of rugby talent navigate the opportunities presented by some of the leading universities in the country.

Our team will be on-site all week to provide expert guidance to players and families who are interested in pursuing the next step of their career through a rugby scholarship, which offers the best of both worlds academically and athletically. We’re also delighted to host several special guests at our stand, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to gain first-hand insight into the life of a student-athlete in the States."
