The University of West Alabama has had a successful season with three former FirstPoint USA athletes on their team; Jack Moore, Dan McCarthy and Alex Brown.
The success of this season has made Matthew Thorne, Head Coach of UWA make the trip for a second time to the FirstPoint USA London Soccer Showcase to scout for talent for his team.
We caught up with Coach Matty Thorne to find out why International players are a credit to U.S soccer teams and what he is looking for when recruiting overseas.

The University of West Alabama (UWA) is a public university located in Livingston, Alabama, United States.
The university serves students in several academic colleges and divisions on a 600-acre (2.4 km2) campus in west-central Alabama. UWA offers a wide arrangement of degree programs including associate, bachelor's, master's, and educational specialist degrees. The university hosts concerts, lectures, fall and spring theatrical productions, fall and spring commencement exercises, and intercollegiate athletic events.

UWA offers more than 60 undergraduate programs and 10 graduate programs through its academic colleges and divisions at the bachelor's, master's, and educational specialist levels.
The University of West Alabama features 12 sports teams (13 beginning in 2011–2012 with the addition of women's soccer). Both the male and female athletic teams are called the West Alabama Tigers. Ten of the twelve teams participate in the NCAA's Division II as a member of the Gulf South Conference East Division.
