Rugby Stars Set to Shine as FirstPoint Teams Up with US Development Rugby Camp at Dartmouth

One of the leading developmental rugby camps in the States is set to partner with FirstPoint USA to encourage more talented young players to showcase their skills in front of the nation’s top-tier college rugby coaches.

The US Collegiate Development Camp (USCDC), hosted at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire from 26 – 28 June, is tapping into the expertise of the world’s leading college pathway consultancy to further enhance the experience for aspiring college rugby players.

The high-performance camp is led by Dartmouth College coaches Kyle Sumsion and Dom Wareing, who have both been with the Ivy League program since 2022. Coach Sumsion is the former head coach for the USA National Under-20s and a former USA international, while Coach Wareing was Northampton Saints S&C coach and the USA Under-18s national team from 2021-2026.

The event features an elite coaching support staff, drawn from the most prestigious rugby programs in the United States including, in recent years, Harvard University’s Colton Carriaga, Brown University head coach Dave Laflamme and Craig Wilson, Director of Rugby at Yale University.

“We are excited to be working with FirstPoint USA on the upcoming US Collegiate Development Camp being held at Dartmouth College and we’ll be tapping into their expertise on and off the field to enhance the event experience for players and their families,” said Kyle Sumsion, Head Coach for Dartmouth Rugby.

“The camp has been a huge success each year, not only for us from a recruitment standpoint, but as a great showcase for other coaches to attend and the opportunity for talented young high school players to develop their skills. With FirstPoint coming on board, players and their families will be able to learn more about the college rugby pathway and how best to position themselves to be recruited as they work towards those all-important college admission timelines.”

One of Scotland’s most capped rugby internationals Sean Lamont joined the FirstPoint team earlier this year as Director of Rugby, highlighting the company’s growing commitment to the game and support to players navigating the recruiting process.

Lamont, who represented his country 105 times on the international stage, will be lending his vast experience at the event, alongside colleague and two-time National D1A champion and All-American Jamie Berrisford, who starred for Life University during his collegiate career.

“The US Collegiate Development Camp presents a great opportunity for aspiring young rugby players from around the world to develop their rugby skills, improve their tactical awareness and rugby ‘IQ’, and gain a deeper understanding of the game while demonstrating their talents to the top college coaches.”

The camp takes place over three days at Dartmouth College’s Brophy Field, featuring three different age brackets entering the Fall ’26 academic year:

·        Rising Seniors (Final year of high school)

·        Underclassmen (Freshmen and Sophomores)

·        Rising Sophomores (Transitioning from sophomore year)

Attendance at the three-day camp costs $599. Coaches from additional elite college rugby programs from across the USA will also be in attendance, providing athletes with unparalleled exposure to diverse collegiate pathways. The full coaching roster will be announced soon via UScdcamp.com
